At the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and culture, the CCA is committed to making architecture a public concern. We invite you to support our mission or to invest in one of our funds, each contributing to an essential aspect of our work. Your support enables us to advance knowledge, foster dialogue, and respond to the aspirations of our communities.

We are looking for support in the following areas:

Your contribution helps to sustain and elevate our mission, ensuring we can further our work in the years to come. Programs supported include: 

  • Strategic initiatives, enabling innovative projects that keep the CCA at the forefront of architectural discourse. 
  • Collection care and preservation, safeguarding it for future generations. 
  • Operational support, from improving the performance of our building to supporting our exhibitions, publications, and public programs. 

Research programs

By supporting our research programs, you are promoting new studies that explore the intersections of architecture, urbanism, and society, and encouraging thought-provoking dialogue within and beyond the architecture world. Programs supported include: 

  • The Research Fellowship Program, which enables scholars to delve into our archives and uncover new insights. 
  • Multidisciplinary research projects that bring together international experts from diverse fields to address contemporary issues. 
  • International symposia and conferences that shape the future of architecture. 

Education and youth programs

At the CCA we believe we can contribute to nurturing young minds who will one day shape our cities and communities. Your support offers them opportunities to reflect on the role architecture plays in society. Programs supported include: 

  • Youth workshops, conceived to inspire curiosity and an interest in architecture in the next generation. 
  • The Curatorial Internship Program, which provides hands-on experience for young professionals on how architectural institutions operate and conceive their programs. 
  • The Master’s Students Program, which promotes collaborative projects among students at Canadian universities through a summer residency at the CCA. 

New voices

Your support allows us to elevate underrepresented voices in architecture aiming to enrich the mainstream discourse and ensure that architecture truly reflects the diversity of our society. Programs supported include: 

  • The CCA c/o program, a series of temporary collaborations with curators in different cities worldwide that bring new themes and perspectives to our work. 
  • The Indigenous-led Design Fellowship supports projects by Indigenous designers that enter in conversation with CCA programs while also contributing to the development of their home communities. 
  • The Emerging Curator Residency Program, a platform for young talents to develop their personal projects with the support and mentorship of the CCA’s teams. 

Photography and moving image in architecture

At the CCA we hold a vast collection of architectural photography, and we are always curious about the role that image-making plays in shaping our views of the world. Your support supports the development of our collection of photography and new media and the production of new film projects that explore how our built environment is shaped and inhabited. Programs supported include: 

  • Photography and film commissions that document and reflect on the essence of contemporary cities through visual storytelling. 
  • An exhibition series on contemporary image-making, following the presentation in 2023 and 2024 of The Lives of Documents—Photography as Project and madskills: Self-Documenting Construction on Social Media
  • Films conceived and produced by the CCA, exploring architecture’s intersection with culture, politics, and society. 

Digital access and innovation

Your contribution furthers the transformation of the CCA’s digital presence, increasing and improving access to our collection and programs and integrating AI and machine learning to unlock new insights from our vast collections. Programs supported include: 

  • Website development and digital content production, in order to facilitate access to our programs and collection and improve their usability. 
  • AI-driven collection analysis to allow for new insights into our extensive archives. 
  • The development of digital archives, including the digitization and preservation of our born-digital material as well as sharing our archival resources to organizations located in other geographies with limited resources.
